TRANSEXUAL GENE PROPOSED
Ttranssexual gene link found, Australian researchers have identified a
significant link between a gene involved in testosterone action and male
transsexualism.
DNA analysis from 112 male-to-female transsexual
volunteers showed they were more likely to have a longer version of the
androgen receptor gene.

A GUIDE TO TRANS SERIVCE RIGHTS (UK)
The Department of Health has authorised the publication of "A guide to trans
service users' rights", the sixth in the series of booklets that it has
commissioned the Gender Identity Research and Education (GIRES) to develop. The
new booklet is available online

GIRES is currently
working on the next two booklets, which provide guidance on surgery for trans
men and for trans women.

HREOC HOLDS PUBLIC MEETINGS ON SEX AND GENDER DIVERSITY HUMAN RIGHTS
Public
meetings are being held by the Australian Human Rights Commissioner as part of
the sex and gender diversity project. For the details of the meetings in Melbourne

The American Diagnostic
And Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders is presentley being reveiwed. One of
the Committees that the APA has set up to consider the entry of Gender Identity
Disorders are Zucker and Blanchard who many of the sex and gender diverse
community consider to be transphobic. Zucker advocates reparative therapy for
children and Blanchard is well know for his papers on Autogynophilia. Please
